A minimum of two Persons is required to start a Partnership firm. A maximum number of 20 Partners are allowed in a Partnership firm.
Partnership firms are registered by the Registrar of Firms, under the Indian Partnership Act, 1932.
Partnership firms are business entity that are owned, managed and controlled by one person. So Partners cannot be inducted into a Partnership firm.
The transfer of an ownership interest in a Partnership firm is subject to limitations. Without the majority approval of the other partners, a partner cannot transfer his or her interest in the company to anyone (aside from the other partners already in place).
The Partner must be both an Indian national and an Indian resident. Only with the prior consent of the Government of India are Non-Resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin permitted to invest in a Proprietorship.
